The DINO VARIO brings in new orders for Gaudier

Gaudier Erd- und Rückbau GmbH from the Palatine town of Kandel made a groundbreaking decision. With the purchase of the DINO VARIO suction excavator with 12 m³ collecting container from MTS Mobile Tiefbau Saugsysteme GmbH, the family-owned company is expanding its business.

Efficient flat roof renovation with the suction excavator

The heavily mossed and baked gravel on the school’s 400 m² flat roof must be completely removed so that it can be renovated afterwards. While an employee uses a spatula to remove the gravel from the stubborn areas, his two colleagues suction the gravel off. “We added a Y-hose connection and two hose extensions onto the 250 mm thick suction hose, so that two employees can suction at the same time.”

Gaudier’s DINO VARIO is an MTS suction excavator on a truck chassis, with tridem axles, steered trailing axle, a 12 m³ collecting container and a permissible total weight of 32 tons. The air flow is generated by a double fan, which has a suction power of up to 120 kilograms. Even with a suction hose over 100 meters long, the material can still be sucked in powerfully.

The loosened gravel is suctioned directly into the DINO VARIO’s 12 cubic meter container.“So much fits in it that the team only had to drive the truck to the waiting container and dump it once. The job was done after just one day. Without the DINO VARIO, six to seven of our employees would have had to shovel the gravel into wheelbarrows up there, then dump it in containers, lift it down with a crane and empty it from there into a container,” says Christoph Gaudier. “With the suction excavator, we were able to complete the job more efficiently and in less than half the time.”

Variety of applications for the DINO VARIO suction excavator

“Overall, the DINO VARIO can be used very flexibly,” summarizes the managing director.Recently, the company was commissioned to excavate a pit under a tree for pipe rehabilitation in order to expose pipelines carefully in a way that protects the tree’s roots.“Without the vacuum excavator, it would have been very difficult to dig manually under the tree, because a classic excavator would damage the roots. With the suction excavator, the project was completed quickly and safely – we could simply suction the soil between the roots.”

“MTS had already given us detailed advice on the versatile applications of a suction excavator in advance,” reports Christoph Gaudier.“ Our family business has been around for over 80 years. And like all important investment decisions, the purchase of the DINO VARIO was also a family decision,” reports the managing director."We specialize in excavator, earthworks and construction transport, among other things, and have established the use of suction excavators as a way of intelligently expanding our range of services.”

Family decision for the suction excavator

For the Gaudier family, the purchase of the suction excavator was not just a rational decision, but also a matter close to their hearts. The arrival of the DINO VARIO was accordingly celebrated with a big welcome party. “We even gave it a name: Amelie – because she simply attracts a lot of attention.” The first orders for Gaudier had in fact almost come about by themselves. “Amelie practically advertises herself,” says Christoph Gaudier.“ She attracts attention in the street and we are directly approached about her.”
